WATERMEDIA/MEDIA À BASE D'EAU

While still playing with clay, I started to explore different watermedia: watercolour, acrylic and ink. It is done with spontaneity, instantaneity, which gives me great pleasure. 

Texture, nature, gestures, very close to the way I "clay": "very me", as my son put it!

I am deeply moved by the philosophy of Sumi-e painting  which depicts its subject in just a few brush strokes. A kind of "simplicité volontaire", simple living or... painting! But I am far from it and I can tell it will be a long process!

Tout en continuant à travailler la terre, j'ai commencé à jouer avec l'eau en explorant l'aquarelle, l'acrylique et l'encre. Cela se déroule très spontanément, dand un geste instantané, ce qui me procure beaucoup de plaisir. Ces gestes, parfois texturés comme mes objets d'argile, se traduisent essentiellement en images inspirées de la nature, emmagasinées dans mon inconscient. Ce qui, selon mon fils, donne naissance à des tableaux "très moi"!

D'autre part, l'approche Sumi-e qui tente de saisir un sujet, une ambiance, de traits de pinceau minimalistes m'attire profondément. Une sorte de "simplicité volontaire"... Objectif dont je suis encore bien loin et qui me prendra un certain temps à atteindre, j'en ai bien peur!
